CREATIVE WRITING
Creative writing requires high-level of imagination. The writer creates a story out of his own imagination and invents characters. He organises the events of the story to make it seem real.
Study the sample below.
A creeper in the house.
I woke up with a start wondering what it could be. I had goosebumps as I felt a soft smooth cold creeping movement near my right leg.
I did not know where I was at first. There was a power outage so everywhere was dark. I groped for my phone while trying to keep my legs still. I flashed the torchlight quickly and what I done made me scream.
A smooth black snake had crept past me and was heading for the back of the plasma television on the wall. My screen made it to drop on the floor and raising its Flathead and child at me. I started crawling backwards hoping to find something with which I can defend myself. my eyes never left it and it started creeping towards me. My back met the wall and I started to move my legs. I was afraid to scream again. Just then, Jude my elder brother tiptoed into my room with a club in hand. He's coming in coincided with restoration of power and the reptile became distracted.
In what seemed like a flash, my brother dashed further into the room and struck with every strength in him smashing the head of the reptile against the floor. The slithering of the headless snake made me to scream again but Jude handled it. He reached for the matchete I usually kept beside my bed and cut off the tail after pinning it down with the club.
